Jan. 18, 2010
Was a crazy day with little time to rest. Got off at a regular quitting time, thought I was ahead of the game only to find out that I needed to go back out and pick up the dogs meds. Fixed spaghetti for diner, worked on the papers for the short sale with the bank, and am just now settling down and getting ready to hit the hay. Good night all.

Slept in and enjoyed the rest. Got up, cleaned the house while watching Yes on DVD. Always a great way to clean. The weather was nice most of the day and pretty warm, rained a little later in the afternoon, but no big deal. House looks much better and now it's off to Carrabba's for diner with my mom, sister and I. We are celebrating my mom's 81st birthday which is on Tuesday 1/19. Did well on what I ate, chicken, veggies, and cavatopi (sp), un-sweetened tea, and no desert. Had a good evening with my family. Went to Walmart afterwards to pick up some stuff, came home to find Billy waiting with Aris. She is spending the night and will enjoy her Monday with Noni. I will be working and glad to have a job to go to. Getting ready to work on setting up the LAN connection to my TV. Goodnight all.

Installation Day!!! Freedom from Comcast is at hand! We are installing AT&T. It will take some time and allot of effort to configure the thing because they sent the wrong router but I, by the grace of God will get er' done. Got to work on getting the router I currently have to work with the AT&T modem and get all my gear configured like the printer, 2 email accounts, the Directv Box and the flat screen that has a LAN connection. Having Manny's for dinner, Greek food, watch Night At The Museum 2 and spend some time with my honey. Stayed up late and slept in. Going to miss church again. Got to do better. Night all.

Not a bad day. The weather was much better, warmer and the sun was out. Work went well, slammed as ussual. Wouldn't have it any other way. The AT&T guy was at the house today to do the install, had a cut line somewhere under ground, he got it fixed though. The modem got here via UPS around 5:30 pm. Don't think I will try the configuring tonight because they sent me the wrong modem. Talked with tech support and they placed an order for the correct modem, though I'm gonna try my Linksys. Had a quite evening, Chineese for dinner. Watched some tube, and headed to bed. Good night all.

Hectic day, 10 inspections, a walk through, a measurement of a carpet job, going over the soon to be AT&T service with AT&T, trying to find out why the insurance company didn't pay about $1100.00 in charges to our doctor, entering information in our company system, heading to the store for something to fix for diner, going to cook, clean it up, sit and try and relax with the TV, head to bed. Wasn't much time for the Lord in that schedule! I best make time. Good evening all.

Work was hectic. Walk through in Ravenel to start the day with Esther, my Kenyan Christian sister. In the office for a franchise inq. A franchise sale in the afternoon with training to follow well into the evening. Home to cook chicken, feed and water the dogs, watch the tube and off to bed.

And the crap just keeps on coming. Don't know why I have let things get so out of hand, but the hits just keep on coming. Work was a blur with problems and issues from all angles.....all with the same overtone. Disrespect and self serving. Problems that once were a joy to attack now somehow don't seem the same. I have poured out 110% in all that I do, and I seem to be moving backwards. Does anyone really care about anyone else any more? I love what talent the Lord has blessed me with and I thank Him with all my being. I pray that He will help me to be all that He has called me to be. I am a child of the most high God, an heir to the throne, a joint heir with Jesus! Greater is He who is within me than he who is within he world! If God be for me, who can be against me. I lift up the name of the most high God. I will sing Your praise in the morning and all the days of my life. You are worthy of all praise, of all honor, of all glory! I will praise You from the valley, just as I would praise You from the mountain top. You, oh Lord are with me always and in You I can place my trust. When others have turned against me and forsaken me, You are with me. Closer than a brother. I find shelter under Your wings. May my life be a testimony to Your saving grace. Help me Lord as I try and find my way. Place your hedge around me, oh Lord. Protect me from those that would seek to devour me. I place all my trust in You. To Christ be all the glory!

What a crappy day! Problems with work, problems with finance, problems in general. The benefit of days like today is that it helps one realize that stuff is just stuff, and money is just money. They both come and go, and for some reason unknown to me....I haven't mastered them yet. I work harder, have more stress, less respect, same problems and responsibilities, but for some reason....I just never get it. Am I not thankful,? No, that couldn't be further from the truth. The LORD has blessed my family and I beyond measure, and I'm not just speaking of material things! No, I'm talking about a personal relationship with GOD the Father, through His Son Jesus the Christ, a wife who loves me and cares about me, a mother that loves me no matter what stupid stunt I pull or poor decision I make, a son that has oh so many of my traits, GOD help him, 2 beautiful grandchildren with another on the way, my health, my friends, my salvation. I am blessed and it makes it even the more sad that I could feel as if I were in a deep, dark pit and no matter how I try, I just keep sinking deeper and deeper. Lord help me for I am becoming overwhelmed emotionally, a role that I am not to familiar with. I need guidance and your presence Abba Father. Jesus help me to get a grip.

Sunday, not one of the best days this week. Didn't make church and Sunday never seems to go well when I miss church. Worked on cleaning the house, took the Springer (Shelby) to get groomed, scooped the "poop" in the back yard and managed to make my wife angry with me in the process. Not good. I love her and I just seem to have a way of messing things up. Felt kinda down out of the chute, don't know what it is, been this way for a few weeks or longer now. Depressed I guess is what it is best described as. I just am trying to do what I do, will get past it. Shelby seems to feel better after her trip to the groomer. Not much more to speak of, gonna close now. Hope things get better. Nite all.

Saturday, I love Saturday. Slept in, ran some errands, came home to find that our daughter was here and we were all going out to get something to eat. We tried Manny's Greek restaurant and found it to be very good. Went to the restroom and upon my return to the table I neglected to notice that the area we were sitting in was elevated and I failed to remember to step up thus falling flat on my face in front of the whole restaurant. What hurt most at the time was my pride, put I have since felt the pain in my knees, shoulders and wrists. Not as young as I once was. Anyway, from there to "Once Upon A Child" a second hand children's clothing store to pick up some things for Aris and the yet to be born new granddaughter. We were there for what seemed like days. After we left there I wanted to head home. Upon getting home, I decided that it was time to connect the surround sound to the new TV. Took like 3 hours to accomplish that, but now it is done. Was dispatched late in the evening for some take out food, watched some TV, and now ready for bed. Had a wonderful day with my girls, was a good day.

Why is it that Friday is the best day of the week? A good day to look forward to the weekend with, a good night to stay up late, Friday is a good day indeed. Work was hectic as usual, stayed later than expected, but there was a pleasant twist to the evening. Normally my dear wife gets to pick up Aris our oldest grandchild, when she is coming over to spend the night. However, this evening Rebecca was feeling nauseous and quite tired and phoned me and asked if I could pick up Aris from Doug's house, a friend of Aris' mother, our daughter Brooke. Upon arriving at Doug's, I found the two of them sitting with Doug playing acoustic guitar and Aris, my 7 year old granddaughter singing a song that she was adlibbing the lyrics to. Doug then played back the recording that he had made of the tune and I was blown away.......it was stunningly wonderful. The lyrics were deep yet appropriate, the tempo superb, and the vocals....angelic! My granddaughter the song writer! It was honestly very good. After picking her up we had a rare opportunity to spend time just Popi and granddaughter. We ate at Ruby Tuesdays, she had her normal Mac and Cheese, we talked, laughed, exchanged tidbits of trivia, visited and had a wonderful meal together. We had a great time. When we got home Noni (Rebecca) had gotten some rest, was feeling much better to ever ones delight and she and Aris settled into the master bedroom to play on the computer and spend "girl time" together until I got to tired and wanted to hit the hay and broke up the party. What I discovered was that Aris had sacked out, so Noni asked me to carry her to her bed and tuck her in. When I picked her up, she said the funniest thing, " Popi.....what are you doing?" I told her I was carrying her to bed and she didn't say another word. Found out later the next day that she didn't even remember being carried to bed. I got to sack out with the 3 dogs and we all settled down for some snooze time. I guess I have truly "gone to the dogs! Good night all.

A nice sunny day that was a little warmer. Worked out in the field most of the day visiting some clients. Nice to be out and about. Got out of work at a decent time for a change, came home, picked the whole Christmas tree up, bulbs, lights, angel and all and carried it out the back door to the garage to be "plucked" later this weekend. Unorthodox, yes, but effective nun the less. Turkey sandwich and soup for dinner, national championship game on the new "tube" and Bama just won. Not a big Bama fan but a big Texas hater. Rebecca not feeling to well and sacked out early, trusting that the Lord will give her a good nights rest and she will feel better in the morning. God is good.....all the time. Night all.

Is this North Dakota or South Carolina? May actually see some snow flurries, but I doubt it. Full day of problems and solutions, God is so good. Worked late and took care of making the big leap to get off of Comcast once and for all. Ho rah!!! Trying AT&T, will see how it goes. Spent the evening with my lovely wife checking out the new Flat Screen. Man.....the picture of this Samsung 750 series 240Hz 1080p is beyond belief, never seen anything like it. It;s like 3d or something, and it's not like this is our first 1080p HD TV. It just blows the one that Best Buy was kind enough to replace, the Sony. It was junk! The Lord gave us favor, he cares so much that he even tends to the details and the small things. No walk this evening, inside of my legs are chaffed, more than anyone wanted to know. Will try and get back at it on Thursday. Finishing up on the blog and some Facebook, then hitting the hay. Good night all.

Yet another cold, cold day. Waited for the repair guy to get here but decided to go by Best Buy before they arrived. The store manager that was supposed to be there at 7:30 this morning was not there and would not be until 1 pm. Not good. I spoke with an assistant manager named Brian , told him about the saga and he said he could help. After a little verification with the Geek Squad, it was determined that we would replace the Sony with a new Samsung LCD at no additional charge to me. I will need to purchase an extended warranty for future protection but have 30 days to do so. Was able to get it home and hooked up with the help of my wife. Man, WHAT A PICTURE!!! Very happy. I give all the glory to God and His favor and blessing. The Lord worked this situation out and gave us favor. Had turkey sandwiches with new potatoes for dinner. Got the 1.68 mile walk in, TV set up and heading to bed. Sleep tight all.
Jan. 4, 2010
Monday and cold as crap. Still working on this TV thing, Found out that my Sony was involved in a law suite and Sony lost, will repair but will use refurbished parts. Not at all happy with that proposition. Went to Best Buy where we got the set, spoke to the manager on duty, brought him a pile of articles about the class action suite against Sony, he said he would get the store manager to look at the situation and give me a call on Tuesday 1/5/10, but indicated that they were probably not going to help at this time. Well see. Started working on the weight problem, flat bread sandwich for lunch, turkey and veggies for dinner, walked 1.63 miles. It's a start. Pray that the Lord helps me with this and gives me the strength to succeed. I place my trust in Him. Reading more about the TV, not getting any happier about the situation. Good night all.
Jan. 3, 2010
Twas a cold day in ole' Charleston SC. Started the day at church, wonderful way to start the new year. What a blessing. Too cold to do much but I did manage to get the back yard cleared of "doggy droppings", leaves blows away and the grass cut. Rebecca got her nails done, didn't do much after that. Ordered dinner in and tried to get ready for a new work week. Big Screen on the glitch, started on New Years day, everyone had a green tint on them. Called for a work order under warranty, will be out on Tuesday 1/5/10. I have determined after much Internet investigation that the problem is the optical block, $1100.00 worth of repair without my extended warranty. Bummer man. Will see hoe it goes. They will most likely want to have my TV for like a week or two. We'll get things worked out. Have a good week and may the Lord bless you.

Direct TV is back at the Henderson household! Yea! Climbed out of bed by 10 am, the installer was here by noon, and unlike the installer who came out to install when we moved into the new house back in Nov. 09 and said that we could not get a "field of view" for the satellite, then climbed in his truck and booked, this guy actually made an effort, got the ladder off the truck, found a spot with an excellent signal, and did the install. To bad that the first guy didn't put the effort in, because if he had I wouldn't have had to have Comcast put their crap in my house and pay for a huge installation bill only to have to have it jerked back out again. But it was worth the hassle, Direct TV is so much better. I'm at one with the dish again. If you don't have Direct TV, try it, it's worth it just to get "GOD" TV. Lots of blessings there. Rebecca lounged and I didn't ever leave the house or do anything of value, didn't even cook......Pizza Hut was the cook tonight. Very cold with temps in the 20's tonight. I thought this was the Sunny South.....what happened. Stll so blessed to live in such a wonderful location. Good night all.
Jan. 1, 2010
Happy New Years to all. Quiet day at home with my mother, sister and my wonderful wife Rebecca. Dined on cabbage and corned beef, corn, potatoes, carrots and cherry bread pudding. Rebecca took the opportunity to catch up on some much needed rest and my sister Tawnya, my mother and I watched WVU loose to Florida State in Bobby Bowden's last game as FSU football coach. Most of the day was rainy and chilly, but the sun found its way through late in the afternoon. The 3 "furry" kids, Hunter, Mountie and Shelby Doodle enjoyed scraps in their dinner and were treated with "Peanut Butter Pigs Ears" from my sister and mother. Twas a good time of fellowship and family. A great start to the New Year.
